The Pillar of Decency – I do no harm.
Sentience is my affliction;
accountability, my radiotherapist.
Grace nurses me, recants the words
I mumble in transient visions of heaven –
“Forgive, they know not what they do.”
The Pillar of Respect – I am not alone.
I do unto others, as they should do to me.
A trader of words, I earn my respect.
My goods are as fresh as the first breath
of life I took out of my mother’s womb.
I barter with humanity, her wealth exceeds
mine. Insecurities interrupt our fair dealings,
I take a loss. Silence points out my affliction –
I am accompanied by despair to my treatment.
